Designer Cherith Harrison is inspired by patterns found on everyday items, such as the print on envelope linings. She creates various adaptations of those designs through collage which are then screen printed and quite often, combined with a contrasting illustration of a plant, animal or everyday object. She tends to begin my drawings by looking for patterns within the subject matter, which she deliberately exaggerates through scale and colour to help give the overall image a sense of character, beauty and vibrancy.
