Wooden Noah's Ark

With its bright colours, this wooden ark set is a traditional classic. It comes complete with a ladder to climb aboard, seven pairs of animals, Noah and his wife. The door to the ark opens with a magnetic catch, making it easy to load the animals on board.

You’ll find crocodiles, bears, zebras, giraffes, monkeys, lions and elephants on this wooden ark. Each is cut from wood and coloured with non-toxic paint. The entire set is presented in a box that can be used for storage.

French artist Henri Rousseau shared our fascination with exotic animals, although his inspiration came from prints and illustrations rather than Bible stories. It was claimed he experienced the Mexican jungle while in the army, but it now seems likely he never left France. In 1891 he exhibited what’s become his best-known work, a painting called “Surprised!”

Rousseau portrayed a tiger in a tropical storm, about to pounce on an unseen target. The animals in our wooden ark are much friendlier – and are definitely in the mood to play!
