Thomas Gainsborough’s portrait of “Mr and Mrs Andrews” is often seen as the masterpiece of the artist’s early years. It’s believed to have been painted in 1750 and shows the Andrews estate near the Surrey town of Sudbury, where Gainsborough himself was born.
