Take a very different perspective on wildlife with our self-assembly patterned stag head. It’s a modern interpretation of traditional taxidermy and has been designed in Italy by Miho Unexpected. Instead of a stag’s face you’ll see an eclectic mix of patterns and colours... yet the outline is that of a mounted deer.
This unique wooden decoration is constructed from recycled MDF. It arrives flat and slots together easily with just rubber rings to secure everything in place. Full instructions are included, making it fun for youngsters and adults alike.
The patterned stag head trophy is an off-beat reminder of scenes painted 500 years ago by Titian. He dominated 16th century Venetian art with his portraits, religious works and images from mythology. However, despite the fantastic nature of the themes, the pictures were often set in familiar-looking woodland – as demonstrated by his series of mythological pictures for Philip II of Spain. These tell the tale of how Actaeon discovered the goddess Diana and was later transformed into a stag to be hunted by his own dogs.
This stag requires no hunting and very little transformation. In just a few minutes you’ll have created your own king of the forest!
