This plastic plate features a detail from Swabian's Portrait of a Woman of the Hofer Family. Perfect for indoor or outdoor use, these plastic plates are strong yet lightweight, and are also stain resistant.
Perfect for picnics, our plastic plates stack neatly for storage.
The sitter's family is identified by the inscription (born a Hofer), although her precise identity is unknown. She holds a forget-me-not, presumably for remembrance. On her headdress is a fly, either a symbol of mortality or a reminder of the artist's skills of illusion. The artist worked in Southern Germany; the portrait probably dates from about 1470.
