Bring the countryside into your home with this build-it-yourself stag head. It’s styled to resemble a traditional trophy but is actually formed from recycled MDF. The stag arrives flat and simply slots together. There are rubber rings included to hold the wooden panels in place... and there are also detailed instructions, making it fun to build for youngsters and adults alike.
Our stag head trophy has been designed in Italy by Miho Unexpected. It’s an unusual reminder of the woodland scenes often depicted by the Italian painter Titian. He dominated 16th century Venetian art with his portraits, religious works and mythological scenes. Animals were captured with the same meticulous detail as the human and divine subjects of his paintings.
In 1553, Titian started painting a series of pictures for Philip II of Spain. He used Ovid’s poetic Metamorphoses as inspiration, telling how the hunter Actaeon discovered the goddess Diana and was transformed into a stag.
Fortunately, no mystical transformation is required to create this impressive stag. All you need is a little time and a space on your wall!
