Owl Necklace

Our owl necklace has been created in the UK by Mirabelle, a jewellery brand founded by Veronique Henry. The daughter of a Parisian silversmith, Veronique has travelled extensively throughout her life, with much of her work influenced by the fine detailing and colours of South East Asian designs. Her small owl pendant is accompanied by a hematite bead and hangs from a 22 carat gold-plated chain.

Owls are often associated with wisdom; a connection that can be traced back to Ancient Greece and the goddess Athena. It’s a link that would have been familiar to the artist Titian, who often chose mythological themes for his paintings.

As a child, the young Titian – known then as Tiziano Vecellio – trained as an artist in Venice. By the time he reached adulthood, he’d already become well known for his skills and was often commissioned to paint portraits and religious scenes.
