The boy resembles the figure of Cupid, god of Love, in the versions of Titian's 'Venus and Adonis' in Washington (National Gallery of Art) and New York (Metropolitan Museum of Art). It was probably painted in the 17th century after one of the pictures produced in Titian's studio late in his career.
