Fair Trade Crochet Tiger Toy

It’s likely that Henri Rousseau painted his jungle fantasy “Surprised!” – also known as “Tiger in a Tropical Storm” – without ever having seen a tiger in the wild. Despite stories linking him with a trip to Mexico in the 1860s, it seems most likely his inspiration came from old prints and the Paris botanical gardens.

Our crocheted tiger toy is much friendlier than the animal Rousseau depicted. There’s a bright orange body with black stripes, cute ears and a face that’s positively pleasant. The toy tiger is hand-made from 100% organic cotton and is filled with polyester. Best of all, it’s an ethical toy tiger, produced in accordance with Fair Trade guidlines.

This crocheted tiger is a beautiful soft toy that stands around 37cm (over 14 inches) tall. The traditional crochet method produces a result similar to knitting, resulting in a quirky yet charming toy that’ll soon become a firm favourite.
