"I look very smart in my police officer uniform and I have the important job of protecting you on your journey to the London 2012 Games." - Wenlock
Wenlock is the official mascot for the London 2012 Olympics. Formed from the last girder of the Olympic Stadium, Wenlock is made of highly polished steel, allowing him to reflect the personalities and appearances of the people he meets. He has a camera for an eye to film all of his adventures.
Wenlock's name is inspired by Much Wenlock, a small town in Shropshire that is at the heart of Olympic history. In the 19th century, Baron Pierre de Coubertin was invited there to watch the Much Wenlock Games, which were inspired by the ancient Olympic Games.
