About the company
National Gallery Company Limited (‘NGC') is the trading arm of the National Gallery, London. All our profits go to support the work of the Gallery.
NGC carries out a variety of activities on behalf of the Gallery. In addition to the on-line shop and the shops located in the Gallery, NGC publishes books about the Gallery's collection, manages the Gallery's café and restaurant, and licenses reproductions of the Gallery's paintings through the Picture Library. More details about each of these activities are given on the following pages.
Shops
There are three permanent shops in the Gallery. Each of these has a wider range of products than it is possible to offer on our website. So to enjoy our full range of merchandise please visit us in Trafalgar Square or make use of our mail-order service.
Sainsbury Wing shop: located on the ground floor of the Sainsbury Wing, offers an unparalleled selection of art books and gifts related to the collection. The book department offers both the full range of National Gallery publications and several thousand books from other publishers, making this one of the premier specialist art bookshops in London.
As well as a wide selection of postcards and posters, the shop also offers a regularly updated variety of specially commissioned gift items produced exclusively for the National Gallery.
The Portico Shop: at the top of the entrance staircase in the main building stocks a selection of gifts and postcards, books and other merchandise.
East Wing shop: visit our shop by the Sir Paul Getty entrance for a range of guidebooks, gifts and postcards.
Shops are open daily 10am - 5.45pm, Friday until 8.45pm.
Mail-order: We offer a telephone mail-order service and will happily send to you in any part of the world any item from the shops which can safely be posted. We will also take orders for any art books currently in print.

The National Dining Rooms: With the emphasis firmly on classic dishes and comfort food, this quintessentially British restaurant offers Gallery visitors the ultimate dining experience.

The National Gallery Café:
With its own entrance on St. Martin's Lane, a waiter service brasserie, an espresso bar and a private dining room, the National Café offers a truly European slice of cosmpolitan café culture in the heart of London.
Open daily 8am-11pm (last food orders 9.30pm).
