Bruegel (HB)
Astoundingly inventive Flemish painter, Pieter Bruegel the elder, was notable for his flair for composition and community in his art.
Known for producing both beautiful landscapes and deeply religious works that evoke a deep sense of the vernacular language and the everyday of the time, his depiction of rural life earned him the nickname “Peasant Bruegel” and served to raise peasant culture to the status of high art. Works such as The Triumph of Death and The Tower of Babel are just as astounding today as they were in the 16th century.
Bruegel collates a collection of the artist's work and serves as a stunning introduction to the sheer scope of his subjects.
