Kehinde Wiley - A New Republic
Kehinde Wiley is renowned for his naturalistic paintings that reference the work of Old Masters, replacing the historical subjects with African Americans in modern clothing.
Published in association with the Brooklyn museum, New York, this book takes an in-depth look at the artist's work from 2001 to the present. Beautifully illustrated, it features the famous reworked paintings by Titian and van Dyke, through to his large scale Down pieces and snapshots of his new series of stained-glass windows.
It includes a collection of essays, which look at how his career has progressed, its reception and how his work is evolving today.
