Leonardo Cartoon Bouquet

£50.00
The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne and the Infant Saint John the Baptist ('The Burlington House Cartoon')

'The Burlington House Cartoon' by Leonardo da Vinci is a full-size preparatory study for a painting which has never been used to transfer a design onto a panel but must have been preserved in its own right as a drawing. The Virgin Mary sits on the lap of her mother, Saint Anne. The Christ Child blesses his cousin Saint John the Baptist. The work is set in a wild mountainous landscape.

Each exquisite floral element in this bouquet has been carefully selected to reflect the various rosy and copper hues in this work of art. Some of the most prominent being the use of copper Ruscus, peach Avalanche Roses, Sweet Pink Roses, Apple Tea and caramel Carnations. Blue Vernonica adds darker, blue tones and the textures reflect the mountainous landscape. The flowers and fresh greenery selected reflects the beautiful image of the Virgin Mary seated on the lap of her mother, Saint Anne, with the Christ Child blessing his cousin Saint John the Baptist. This luxurious floral arrangement makes a bold statement for the most milestone occasions and has been created to commemorate the 500th anniversary of Leonardo’s death.
