Saint Anthony Abbot (about 251 - 356) is shown in a monastic habit and has a Tau-shaped cross and carries a book.

Painted around the middle of the 14th century by Giovanni di Nicola, a Sienese artist who worked in Pisa, this panel is likely to have formed part of a polyptych. The other panels are missing, but the Virgin and Child were almost certainly shown at the centre.

The clasps on Saint Anthony's book were drawn in, but seem never to have been painted. The inner moulding of the frame is original.
